Case Study · AI + Ecommerce
Albert’s Vinoteca: a connected wine catalogue and AI Sommelier.
The starting point
The challenge
Wine retail combines complex product information with highly personal customer questions. New bottles need consistent attributes, imagery, tasting notes and SEO content, while customers want advice on style, food pairing and suitability.
Albert’s needed more than a reliable product-import process: the catalogue also had to support helpful, catalogue-grounded conversations without adding more routine work for staff.
What we built
From structured wine data to personalised customer guidance.
Wine catalogue
Verified attributes
AI Sommelier
Dashboard + oversight
Catalogue foundation
Structured WooCommerce wine attributes, bottle imagery, producer and grape information, tasting notes, food pairings, vegan suitability and SEO metadata.
Customer-facing AI
Natural-language wine recommendations based on catalogue products, including meal pairing, style preferences and suitability questions, with relevant products presented to shoppers.
Connected oversight
A dedicated Sommelier dashboard shows conversation activity and customer topics, supported by catalogue-verification and review workflows for product information.
Real interfaces
A live shopping experience, backed by a connected management system.
What this proves
Wine expertise and catalogue data, working together.
Customers can ask for personalised wine recommendations, food pairings and suitability advice without searching through individual product pages. Catalogue consistency makes those conversations useful, while the Sommelier dashboard gives staff visibility into questions and activity.
The result is a more engaging ecommerce experience, simpler product administration and a reusable approach to combining structured business data with conversational AI.
